After finishing up and presenting our proposal a month ago, we received good news that the social enterprise we worked with is moving towards building 2.0!!One of the biggest realizations I had while doing our proposal is that, it reminded me:1. We have to get to know our main audience well and the stakeholders around them. Understanding their different motivations, stakes etc. will help you think about what’s needed to be prioritized out of all the issues presented. It will also help you assess the situation better. 2. When proposing solutions, we can start with something small yet practical and impactful solutions. It does not need to be grandiose or so detailed because not a lot of businesses or companies have big resources to work with. Also, even small wins motivate people to launch to bigger goals and bigger dreams.3. Always be mindful of their vision. Not all businesses have big aspirations or they want to maximize every profit-centric idea out there and that’s completely ok!! So, get to know what they really value. We must tailor fit the solution based on their actual need, strengths, weaknesses, capacity, values and goals. Should you go to Thailand, if you can spare 2 days to travel to Chantaburi and stay in บ้านหลวงราชไมตรี Historic Inn (Baan Luang Rajamaitri Inn), enjoy the kind and whimsical community called ชุมชนริมน้ำจันทบูร Chanthaboon Waterfront! Let’s support their community-led social enterprise.

A personal development space over 55million years in the making! From mystifying fairy rings and the footprints of the god Mukuru, to the ‘Gates of Hell’; From the Skeleton Coast to the edge of the ‘Great Escarpment’; From Etosha (‘the Great White Place’) and the largest free roaming populations of cheetah and rhino on Earth, to the world’s only desert elephants; And, from some of the highest sand dunes on our planet to the world’s second largest canyon (Fish River Canyon).....Namibia is a perfect location for digging deep and spending time thinking about who you are, where you’re going, how you’re going to get there, and, the story you’re writing of your life!In the local Nama language, the name of the Namib desert translates as ‘an area where there is nothing’, which tells us all we need to know about how free we are from everyday distractions and noise and how emotionally and mentally liberating the Namib desert can be, when investing personal development time there.I’ll soon be sharing details about an incredible personal development expedition to Namibia and into Botswana that I’m planning for next March in partnership with Africa Wild Trails. Places will be limited, so if you’d like to know as soon as they’re published, please let me know in the comments 👇🏼🌍PS Not only is investing time in the wild places great for our personal development, it’s also results in an outstanding natural boost for our wellbeing!🌍PPS Namibia also provides outstanding and inspirational locations for team retreats!#wellbeing #development #personaldevelopment #selfdevelopment #curiosity #developmentexpedition #bolddevelopment #adventurousdevelopment #namibia #leadership #leadershipdevelopment #leadercology #nodistractions #teamdevleopment #inspirationaldevelopment #retreat #letstalk

The VSA Papua New Guinea Programme recently held its Development Partnerships Forum in Kokopo, East New Britain at Gazelle International Hotel. The underlying focus on “Getting the Basics Right” at the two-day event sparked interesting and thought-provoking discussions among presenters and participants. As one of the presenters, Dr Micah Misivet, mentioned, the Forum created ‘an avenue to share experiences and motivate each other to create change in our community.’ And with presentations as titled below, it’s no wonder another presenter, Sr Serah Malaivuye, commented that the Forum 'was inspiring, strengthening, empowering, and motivating.'→ Empowering Every Child: What’s Happening on the Ground in Early Childhood Education by Mr Alkan Mararang from the Provincial Department of Education→ Catalysts for Positive Change: Women Entrepreneurs Driving Sustainable Economic Growth by Mrs Dorothy Luana from Devine Management Services→ Proximity to the People: The Vital Role of Effective Ward Leadership by Mr Cosmas Bauk from Korai Ward→ The Ripple Effect: How Law and Order Issues Shape Healthcare Delivery by Sr Veronica Marfu and Sr Julianne Rupen from Nonga General HospitalA key theme that emerged from the Forum 'The Future We Deserve – Strengthening Capabilities for Inclusive and Sustainable Development' is the high cost of human insecurity. For instance, insecurity and human-inflicted injuries disrupt healthcare delivery in multiple ways, impacting infrastructure, access, safety, operations, economics, public health, and trust. Addressing these challenges requires comprehensive and adaptive strategies. Participants agree that effective measures include educational initiatives, enhanced conflict resolution processes, improved community engagement, and the creation of sustainable economic opportunities at the village level.VSA PNG staff would like to give a special thank you to the presenters and event staff for their work at the Forum.

The dunes of Namibia serve as a reminder that success in business lies in embracing change just like nature. Just like dunes, businesses play a vital role in the ecosystem. They face constant change and fluctuation, requiring resilience and adaptability to thrive. The dunes reshape themselves in response to environmental forces, and similarly, businesses must navigate uncertainty and embrace the ebb and flow to succeed.Have you encountered any natural wonders that have taught you valuable business lessons? Share your experiences in the comments below!#Namibia #Dunes #BusinessLessons #Resilience

My wife, Lori Souder, transforms lives. It all began in 2009 with the question, "If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be?" Her answer, "𝗔𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮!" set us on an unexpected, life-altering journey. Fast forward to today, and that dream has blossomed into Here Today, Africa Tomorrow, a thriving safari venture that’s redefining travel in Eastern and Southern Africa.HTAT Journeys, LLC goes beyond typical expectations, from witnessing the majestic elephants of Samburu, Kenya, to experiencing the awe-inspiring Great Migration across Tanzania's Serengeti or coming face-to-face with Rwanda's gorillas. It's an immersive education in conservation, a discovery of how local communities flourish alongside nature, and a journey that reaffirms the rejuvenating essence of being outdoors. The feedback from her clients is always the same, "That trip changed my life." And there’s no better affirmation of the path Lori has carved. If you're yearning for an experience that goes beyond the ordinary, that not only opens your eyes but also your heart, it’s time to explore with Here Today, Africa Tomorrow. This isn’t just travel; it’s transformation. You can read more about HTAT and the most recent group trip she led to Tanzania here: https://lnkd.in/g5XMaYJN#Travel #Safari #Africa #Entrepreneurship #Transformation
